'Why sell my mineral collection?'
There are many reasons to sell your mineral collection. Perhaps you have run out of room, and no longer have a way to display your crystal collection. Maybe you've inherited a mineral collection and don't know what to do with it? Or, perhaps time is passing and your children or grandchildren aren't that interested. These minerals have been around for millions of years, and hopefully they will remain intact and 'valued,' for another million years! There are many horror stories of rock collections being 'thrown away,' in dumpsters by ignorant estate executors, or sold for pennies at garage sales. We may be interested in buying your mineral collection.
We regularly buy old mineral and rock collections. We are looking to buy quality minerals, like the ones we offer for sale on the web site. Ideally, we are able to see the pieces in person to assess its value. We are based in Cincinnati, Ohio. I play in spanish. Regardless of where the collection is, please contact us via email[email protected] Send us pics! That's the first thing I'll ask for regardless of how we communicate. We also travel through out the country doing shows, and we often will view a mineral collection while we are in town, see our SHOW SCHEDULE link for details (left side of page).
Please, send me pics of the crystals you want to sell. Even a cell phone image is better than nothing at all. Take some pictures of a few of the better pieces, and a few of the more average pieces. Do you know where the piece was found?. Tell me where you are located. The more information we have, the better. Feel free to include your phone number as I may call as a follow-up to find out more information. Take a look at the pictures of our minerals on our web site to get an idea of what we look for when we buy minerals.
We can also work something out whereby you ship the mineral collection to us in stages. As we receive a box, we call you to discuss the price for the contents. If we agree on the price, we cut you a check and you then prepare another box for shipping. Be sure and include all original labels.
If you have significant mineral specimens that are valued over $1,000, you should send us an email [email protected] with photos, description, and an asking price. If we are interested and accept your price it will be pending inspection of the specimen. You will ship the item to me, and if I purchase it I will pay for the shipping, if I do not purchase it, I will pay for the return shipping.
I really prefer email correspondence due to my frequent travel, in different time zones but if you need to talk about it, Pete's Cell phone is 1 (513) 304-9750 and let me know all about it. Please leave me a voicemail if I'm not available to talk. When selling your mineral collection, here are a few good questions to consider answering:
How many minerals?
How long have you owned them?
What size are they (generally speaking)?
Are they all labeled?
Are they on display, mounted on stands, or boxed up?
How did you get them? IE what dealers did you buy them from?
Do you have a price in mind for the whole collection?
If we agree on a price together, can I pack up the collection and take it with me, or do I have to make a second trip after you shop the collection around?
Let us know if we can assist you in selling your mineral collection. We also can help if you want to sell your fossil collection. I'm particularly interested if you want to sell Tourmaline, Fluorite, Rhodochrosite, Beryl, Benitoite, Heliodor, Morganite, among others. I would like to buy your gem crystals like Tourmaline, please email me.
